College Essay Workshop

Marshall PTSA and Novastar Prep have partnered to offer a 3-hour online workshop to guide seniors working on their college essays. The workshop provides two hours of group instruction and two 30-minute, one-on-one sessions dedicated to the review of your drafted essay(s). Workshop topics include qualities of the Common App essay, essay models, writing techniques and topic brainstorming. Students will leave the workshop with a polished Common App essay and resources to complete the “Why Us?” essay.

One-On-One Sessions

Students will select a 30-minute session within each time frame below.

Instructor Bernadette Smith is a Novastar Prep learning coach who has spent over a decade helping students write effective college application essays and navigate the admissions process successfully. Her educational background includes a B.A in English and an M.A. in School Counseling.
